Zoe Greenberg, in a scarf

I’m a reporter and researcher at the New York Times. In the past few years, I’ve camped out at emergency dental clinics to interview people in poverty whose tooth pain has affected their ability to work and to eat; interviewed non-binary teenagers about how their schools do (or don’t) accommodate their gender in the classroom; and filed information requests in all fifty states to document how states contract for health care behind bars.

Before the Times, I was on the investigative team at Rewire, a national site focused on reproductive health.

My work has appeared in the New York Times, Rewire, Salon, the Oregonian and a variety of other places.
